Algeria is a rap country full of talented rappers who are making the buzz. Despite the lack of dedicated structures, they manage to export their music. Here are the top 10 most influential rappers in DZ in 2023.
10 – Youppi
Youppi is a 23-year-old artist from the city of Bouira. He began his career in 2013. He has clashed with several other rappers such as Phobia Isaac. The trump card of Youppi is his ability to respond musically to clashes in just 24 hours. On his YouTube channel, he has more than 40 million views.
9 – DAK
DAK is a 25-year-old artist from Annaba just like Lotfi Double Kanon. He began his career in 2015 and has since delivered no fewer than 9 projects. He is one of the best rappers of his generation. He has over 56 million views on Youtube.
8 – Islem-23
Islem is a 23-year-old rapper from the city of Annaba. He began his career in 2012. A very talented rapper, he is one of the most underground artists. On his YouTube channel, he has over 71 million views.
7 – Adel Sweezy
Working under several aliases (Mc Lama or El Badman) Adel is a musician, singer and songwriter. He started out making comedy videos before turning to rap. He is known for his acoustic style and unique voice. He made a hit by remixing the track “DKR” by Booba and “Tchikita” by JUL which gave him a split from the two French rappers and a buzz in France. On Youtube, it has over 111 million views.
6 – Trap King
The artist was born in Kouba in 1990. The rapper is known for his imposing physique but also for his sharp pen. He clashed with Didine Canon 16 and their feud has long fuelled social networks. It has more than 174 million views on Youtube.
5 – ZEDK
ZEDK was born in 1993 in Alger. Real name Zakaria Rahim, the artist is enjoying a meteoric rise. His pen and his style make him a promising artist. On his YouTube channel, he has over 201 million views.
4 – Mc l’Artisan
Real name Aymen Djeffal, the craftsman hails from the town of Souk Ahras and was born in 1988. He began rapping in 2008 before exploding in 2015. He has more than 347 million views on Youtube.
3 – Phobia Isaa
Born in Kouba, real name Ishak Saad-Eddine, Phobia is nicknamed the Owl. He started sharing his music in 2014 and has since left his mark on the game with his sharp pen and singular flow. He has more than 406 million views on Youtube.
2 – Flenn
Born in Bourouba, the rapper began writing in 2007. In 2008, he joined the group “BIG-M”. Two years later Flenn gave up Rap . He returned in 2012 with “BourouBaz Crew”. Since going solo, the rapper has been churning out music videos and projects, and has built up a fine reputation in the Algerian game and even in France, where he is often a guest on Skyrock. He has over 454 million views on YouTube.
1 – Didine Canon 16
Real name Kheireddine Yousfi, the artist was born in 1993 in the Algerian suburb of Sttaoueli. He is known for his tracks that carry political and social messages. He has collaborated with a number of French artists, including Marseilles-based Kofs and YL, Tunisian Nordo and Bakyl. He has more 854 million views on his YouTube channel.
