An electric wave courses through the mind from the very first notes of “Flicker”. Behind this track, Issun unfolds a nostalgic aesthetic where every synth echoes broken dreams and unfulfilled desires. Inspired by the Synthpop sounds of the 80s, the German artist delves into a universal inner struggle: that of self-criticism that imprisons and suffocates. “It’s always in the blink of an eye and I’m always the one to stop and then I’m stuck”, he sings, like a confession whispered through time. Produced by Fabio Trentini, the song is wrapped in emotional intensity, resonating as a mirror of fragile souls. The video, directed by Freakshot, visualizes this inner conflict through imagery of an old tube TV, symbolizing a mind trapped within its own labyrinth. Between melancholic visuals and synthetic energy, this piece projects us into a captivating universe, an intimate journey now brought to light by Slash Music.

Issun’s unique journey and what lies ahead
Hailing from Germany, Issun first emerged as the solo project of singer Tobi before expanding to include other musicians and forging an ever-evolving musical identity. His early work blended Pop, Rock and progressive elements, leading up to the conceptual album “Dark Green Glow” (2019, produced by Martin Schnella), which made its mark on the Prog-Metal scene with melodic depth. But it is through a bold shift towards Synthwave and Synthpop that the artist has found fertile ground, capturing the energy and poetry of 80s icons such as Mr. Mister, The Police and Simple Minds. With his new compositions, once again shaped under the guidance of Fabio Trentini, Issun emerges as a creator of universes where nostalgia transforms into vital force. The road ahead looks promising: with daring artistic turns and futuristic visions, keeping an ear open to Issun might just ensure his name is etched firmly into the musical memory.
