When rock strips itself down to the bone, what remains is often the most devastating. HighWay proves it brilliantly with « Mayday », the lead single from their sixth studio album « Last Call for Rock’n’Roll », released on April 24th, 2026 via Rock City Music. Far from the electric blasts that form the band’s DNA, this acoustic track relies on just two instruments: a voice and a guitar. That’s enough to shatter you. Produced by Brett Caldas-Lima at Tower Studio, the track stands as a heartbreaking tribute to the loss of a parent, an intimate distress signal launched from the depths of grief. The lyrics « Who will protect me, who will guide me » ring out like the cry of a child suddenly left facing the void. The video, luminous and restrained all at once, captures the band’s performance with a sincerity that makes you want to watch it again and again, radiating something deeply human. Slash Music

HighWay sounds the last call with « Last Call for Rock’n’Roll »
Born in Sète at the very end of the 90s, brothers Romain and Benjamin Chambert founded HighWay in 1999 after being thunderstruck by an AC/DC concert. Gradually joined by vocalist Benjamin Folch and a handful of musicians recruited through local classifieds, the band built its identity across European roads through more than 500 shows, crossing paths with legends such as Michael Schenker Group, Gotthard, and Jeff Scott Soto. Twenty-five years on, their live energy remains untouched and their ambition, greater than ever.
« Last Call for Rock’n’Roll » marks a turning point: twelve tracks recorded over four months with producer Brett Caldas-Lima (credited on projects by Ayreon, Devin Townsend, and Megadeth), an organic and explosive sound, and the arrival of two new live members, bassist Cerise Pouillard (known from the Ladies Ballbreaker project) and guitarist Florian Arnaud, who finally bring the long-awaited twin guitar power to the lineup. From the electrifying opener « Last Call (For Rock’N’Roll) » to the unapologetic punch of « D.K/D.C » and the swagger of « ¡Bang Bang! », the album unfolds the full spectrum of a band firing on all cylinders. Available via Rock City Music, physically distributed by FTF-Music and digitally through Virgin Music, this record is one of maturity, urgency, and disarming sincerity. Keep the volume high and your eyes wide open: HighWay is only just beginning its ascent.
