Some melodies stay with us long after they end. Michael V. Doane delivers one of those moments with « I Know », a cinematic soft rock ballad written as a love letter to his children. Reflective and emotionally direct, the song explores memory, time, and the quiet but enduring connection between parent and child. Through poetic imagery and understated production, « I Know » captures the feeling of holding onto the people who shape us most deeply. One lyric in particular lingers : « And if I started again, from beginning to end, I would hold you like the stars hold on to night ». Produced by Matthew May and Michael V. Doane, the song is accompanied by an intimate music video directed by the artist himself, a visual piece that favors atmosphere and emotion over spectacle.
Beyond music, Michael V. Doane has built a wide-ranging creative career as a songwriter, performer, director, and educator. His work has included collaborations with artists and producers connected to Exposé, Chic, the late Irene Cara, and others across theater, pop, dance, and independent music. Whether on stage, in film, or through songwriting, Doane continues to create deeply personal work rooted in storytelling and emotional connection.
