Something solemn emanates from « Kast Out », the new track from Strange Fruit Project. Carried by an organic boom bap and a bass that pulses like a heart under tension, the song opens on a universal wound: the feeling of being sidelined, ignored, counted for nothing. The Texas trio transforms pain into spiritual territory, digging into the most intimate contradictions of the human being, an ego that resists, humility struggling to assert itself, anger coexisting with a longing for peace. Crumbling childhood dreams, loved ones slowly taken by illness, a soul crying out for sustenance: every verse carries its weight. « I be like, Lord, please help me understand why these doves cry », lands like a prayer under an open sky. Directed by Kage, the video opens on a biblical quote, plunges into raw urban and industrial settings, and closes on a haunting 3D animation, a must-watch. A track that proves vulnerability, when told right, becomes its own form of power. Discover it on Slash Music.

Strange Fruit Project: Three Voices, One Underground Legacy
It all begins in Waco, Texas, where Symbolyc One, MC and producer schooled on piano and drums in his hometown churches, teams up with his cousin Myth (known as Mythological), with whom he had already formed Symbolic Elementz in 1998. A studio encounter with Myone completes the trio, and one take is all it takes to understand something different has been created. Drawing their name from Billie Holiday‘s iconic song, they drop underground releases in 2002, then « Soul Travelin’ » in 2004. A collaboration with Ghostface Killah on « Milk ‘Em » in 2005 earns them wider critical recognition, leading to a deal with Om Records, which releases « The Healing » in 2006, an album featuring Erykah Badu and Little Brother, both of whom appear on the project. Two decades on, Strange Fruit Project still operates where few dare to go, where truth is never traded for commerce. With « Kast Out », their writing proves as sharp and as deep as ever. Keep your eyes and ears wide open for Strange Fruit Project, they clearly have not said their last word.
S1 : A Producer with a Platinum Touch
Behind the beats of Strange Fruit Project stands S1 (Symbolyc One), a platinum-selling producer whose discography reads like a roll call of the industry’s greatest. He has collaborated with Kanye West, Jay-Z, Eminem, Talib Kweli, The Game, Ghostface Killah, Little Brother, Beyoncé, Madonna, and Erykah Badu. Among his most prominent credits: « Power » by Kanye West, taken from the Grammy-winning album « My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy », and Beyoncé‘s « Best Thing I Never Had » off her album « 4 », both tracks certified platinum. S1 also contributed to West‘s Grammy-nominated albums « Yeezus » and « Watch the Throne », the latter a joint project with Jay-Z.
