Love left unheard always leaves a mark, and that exact void sits at the center of Ezra Franky‘s new single « Curly Boys ». Produced by gnumskulll and Nathan Doyle, this atmospheric indie pop track distills a quiet melancholy, where inattention becomes the slow poison of a fading relationship. The singer murmurs her regrets through a haunting refrain, like a delayed confession to the one she failed to truly hear: « You take so long and now you wonder why they’re gone ». Directed by Jack Perkins, the video sets this confession inside the retro, intimate glow of a bowling alley, extended by the warm neon of a neighboring pizzeria, two nearly nostalgic spaces that give heartbreak the feel of one last round played alone. A release worth catching without delay on Slash Music.

Between the Camera and the Mic, Ezra Franky’s Double Life
Canadian actress and musician Ezra Franky grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta, before relocating to Vancouver in 2021 to fully commit to her artistic path. A member of the Ulkatcho First Nation, she first drew attention on screen playing Lucy Cook in the Netflix series « Untamed », before moving behind the scenes to earn a bachelor’s degree in film production from Simon Fraser University, completed in 2025. Since then, she has moved fluidly between film sets and Vancouver’s independent music scene, cultivating a sensitive songwriting style that draws directly from her own vulnerabilities. On social media, where she shares her projects, her creative work, and glimpses of daily life, she describes herself simply as « My brain juice, brewed for your consumption », a fitting summary of an unfiltered creativity. With screen work and new music both on the horizon, her next chapter already looks full. It remains to be seen where Ezra Franky takes her pen next.
