A symphonic shiver runs through the listener from the very first bars. Keshet, Australian composer, orchestrator, and filmmaker, unveils « Overture », the entirely instrumental opening piece of his project « The Hollow Cause ». Carried by the fifty musicians of the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, the composition weaves classical strings, brass, and woodwinds together with an electric rock section and Middle Eastern percussion, darbouka and davul leading the charge. The result moves through mystery, romance, and pure orchestral intensity, like a film score waiting for its screen. The accompanying video captures this duality visually, cutting between shots of a classical orchestra in full recording session and a rock band bathed in purple and red lighting, a staging directed by Keshet himself that is well worth watching in full, confirms Slash Music.

A Journey Forged Across the World’s Stages
Keshet‘s name is no stranger to those following the music scenes stretching from the Middle East to Europe, Asia, and Australia. A former founding member of several bands and a highly sought after session guitarist, he has also worked as a musician and video artist on productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, We Will Rock You, Cats, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. His reworked covers, arranged in his own style, have racked up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, proof of a sharp instinct for reinvention. He is also behind The Diments, a rock opera he composed, wrote, and staged entirely on his own, selling out its very first run. « Overture » marks the first step of his second opera, « The Hollow Cause », currently taking shape. Keep watching for what comes next in this orchestral fresco.
