Making things happen with music and style!
That’s what this project is all about. Thanks to her explosive funk track “Troublemaker”, arranged by Afro-Cuban pianist Dayramir, Aggeliki wants to raise awareness and get things moving… “Troublemaker came alive in the funk genre because of its rebellious nature”, explains the NY-based singer, who in this track refers to the tendency to assign derogatory labels to people out of insecurity or spite in an effort to control them or keep them “in their place”. Thanks to a few dance steps devised by choreographer Tina Cavicchio, Aggeliki captures the audience’s attention and distills her energy into a soundtrack she wrote and composed herself. Well done to director Alex Agisilaou and his team for this superb work, which we invite you to discover without further ado on Slash Music.
“Do I look like the kind of girl who needs to be told what she wants” – Aggeliki
A committed artist…
“Being actively engaged in the practice of law and having worked on human rights and gender equality issues in Geneva, Switzerland, Colombia and New York, I am passionate about instigating positive change through my music, even if that means disrupting the status quo” Aggeliki tells us about his project, and continues: “I hope this song serves as an inspiration for women all over the world to embrace the “troublemaker” in them, to be confident in asserting their rights and to dare to pursue their wildest dreams despite boundaries. As Laurel Thatcher Ulrich once wrote: “Well-behaved women seldom make history”.
If you’d like a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the attorney by trade’s latest video, “Troublemaker”, you’ll find a “BEHIND THE SCENES” video on her YouTube channel. You can watch the rehearsals, discover the sets and meet the teams who worked on this great project! Hyper-productive, and more committed than ever to the causes she defends, Aggeliki should be back very soon with more music, so stay tuned…
