Many web users are wondering whether using these apps will damage their reach and therefore lower the number of views, likes and the like. We’ve got the answer in this article!
Buffer, Loomly, Hootsuite… Let’s face it, these apps really make you want to. Are you a content creator, community manager or simple social networking freak, and getting a little tired of posting all your videos one by one on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Youtube ? Then you’ve probably come across these apps that let you publish a video to all your networks with a single click! On paper, it’s a real life-changer that will save you time and therefore money. In practice, it’s not necessarily the experience we’ve had…
Will publishing my videos via Buffer, Loomly or Hootsuit lower my virality in the algorithm?
The answer, alas, is yes, but there’s a ” but “. We’ve been doing the test for a month and we’re going to give you our feelings about using these apps. First thing to know is that Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Youtube know perfectly well whether you’re uploading your videos from your smartphone directly or from these apps. Knowing this, we can imagine that platforms might be wary, as this could quickly get out of hand and allow their users to do mass reposting, for example. For our part, we published our videos without changing the rhythm or posting times, using Buffer. Here’s our feedback…
On Facebook and Instagram: It’s the drama. Our virality completely collapsed… If we were averaging low 100,000 views on Instagram, with Buffer, it was impossible for us to exceed 10,000 views. No matter how hard we tried, no matter how many times we tried, no matter how much we putaclicked, nothing. To tell you the truth, the day we published directly without going through Buffer, the first video made 750,000 views on Instagram, our algorythm was happy to see us in the flesh again…
On Youtube: On Youtube, on the other hand, it was a little better. It seems that the platform is a little more flexible with these applications. We were still capping a bit, but it was much less ” marked “.
On TikTok: As with Youtube, we haven’t noticed too much difference.
In conclusion
If you really want to create engagement, virality and develop your social networks. We advise you to abandon these applications and post your videos directly via the social network in question. We really felt the difference when we stopped using them. On the other hand, if your aim is simply to inform your community and deliver information regularly without really paying attention to views, likes, etc., then go for it! These applications are very well designed and will save you a lot of time! They’re so good, we wish we could use them. Of course, all this remains our experience and, perhaps, some platforms will change their tune on the subject, but at least you’ve been warned!
