Butter and the Genre takes its audience on a sonic journey where jazz and contemporary soul merge into a unique cinematic ballad. With their latest single « So Cool So Blue », the band explores the beauty of restraint and the power of longing through an intimate, late-night atmosphere shrouded in mystery. « So cold. So gray. Since what was has gone away », sings the captivating voice of Calliope Staudt, a voice that will linger in your mind long after listening. This remarkable vocal presence blends seamlessly with the subtle harmonies of Gregory “Butter” Haubrich and the delicate textures of the rhythm section. The music video, directed by Chase Spivey & Julius, adds a cinematic dimension to the track, featuring enigmatic characters in a setting reminiscent of a classic noir film, where every glance seems to reveal a secret story. An intimate and compelling work proudly presented by Slash Music.

A Rising Star in Contemporary Jazz
Since their formation in December 2023, Butter and the Genre has established itself as a vibrant modern jazz collective, combining traditional instruments with contemporary energy.
