A musical whirlwind, with the promise of touching and diverse tracks.
Dan Tillery‘s latest single “My Old Friend” is a poignant exploration of the struggle against substance abuse. With raw honesty, he sings, “My old best friend, was a night that wouldn’t end” depicting the dark reality of addiction and the insidious company of vice. The music video, sensitively directed by Ben Lew, visually captures the intimate and often solitary battle against personal demons. Through the melodies, Dan Tillery shares a story that proves universal – the relentless fight for sobriety and the painful recognition that we must sometimes say goodbye to parts of ourselves to survive. How it all began…
“I bought a guitar when I was 20 and started writing songs”, Dan tells us during our telephone interview. It’s easy to see how things just happened naturally, as if music was something that came naturally to him. “I’ve travelled everywhere with my guitar playing songs of all genres”, he adds. Passionate about the simple things in life like nature, Dan Tillery grew up listening to hip hop and artists like Sublime, Incubus, The Beatles, Tupac… These influences enable him to offer rich and varied tracks that will appeal to the widest possible audience, and should enable him to make his mark among the biggest names.
