The masked artist tugs at our heartstrings.
labruc, an independent artist from Greece, has just unveiled his new video entitled “at last”. On an instrumental halfway between pop and urban music, the singer draws inspiration from his own story, delivering a powerful introspective tale. As if lost in the darkness, the artist searches for a way out: “I don’t want more sleepless nights, where I can find no place to hide. I needed help, but there was no one to help me clear my mind…” he sings in a couplet. Directed by Maurice Nezamabadi, the video tactfully illustrates the melancholy, even dark, mood of the track. With this very first career track, Labruc lays down a solid foundation and creates a great deal of mystery around his character. Hidden behind a white scarf, we may never know who he is. But maybe, it’ll force us to be more attentive to his music, so as to get to know him better.
