Free of any calculation, the track leans into spontaneity and easy camaraderie, carrying a sense of freedom that runs through the duo’s entire world. There’s a taste for unplanned encounters here, for landscapes that keep unfolding without ever settling on a fixed destination. A Sound Rooted in Country and Wide-Open Spaces
Fringed vests and constant nods to the American road-trip imagery leave no doubt about the duo’s influences. Made up of Charlotte Melvin on vocals and Sébastien Rossi on guitar, the project was born in the Vaucluse region, between Orange and Avignon, before expanding, depending on the stage. Their sound, sitting at the crossroads of pop, folk, rock, and country pop, draws just as much from original compositions as from acoustic covers reworked in their own image. Riverstone Duo draws its inspiration from wide-open spaces, acoustic guitars, and the energy of rock. Influenced by country and folk, they blend two voices to bring sincere songs to life, the artists say, adding that they’re currently working on an EP whose details remain under wraps.
In the meantime, the duo will take the stage at an upcoming acoustic open mic night at the Wallace Bar, a chance to catch them in a more stripped-down, intimate setting.
