Czech metalcore band Freakvencies is coming back after an almost three-year hiatus with a new single « September 22 », which symbolically marks their return to the scene.
The band, which formed around 2014 and 2015 in Šumperk, has gone through a long period of silence caused by Covid and personnel changes in recent years. But where many have left off, Freakvencies have found their energy again. And with a new line-up, they are now back, confident and in great shape.
The new single « September 22 » represents a reboot, new blood and new energy.
The first listen shows that this is not just a comeback out of obligation. The single stands firmly in the band’s metalcore roots, sharp riffs, raw breakdowns and a dynamic vocal line create a dense atmosphere that makes it clear that Freakvencies are living life to the fullest again.
Thematically, the song touches on a very current issue: a twisted time in which people often lie just to hurt others. It reflects relationships, manipulation, envy and hurt, situations that we all encounter all too often. But at the same time, it also carries hope: the truth has its power and sooner or later it will show itself.
If the goal of the single was to make it clear to everyone that the band has not yet said their last word, then it succeeded more than well. « September 22 » is a strong, honest and modern metalcore track that proves that even after a break, something worth paying attention to can emerge.
Freakvencies are back, and they definitely know where they want to go next.
