Red Eye Music Group LLC delivers a seventh album that lives up to every expectation. With “737 Island Hopper”, Speed Brake Armed takes the listener on a sonic odyssey where reggae basslines merge with the roar of jet engines, and runways dissolve into golden sunsets. Seventeen tracks built like so many stopovers: from “Island Wings, Drifting Away” at the opening all the way through to “Final Approach to Paradise”, each track is an open invitation to travel, a cruising altitude sustained by collaborations with Radar Vectors and Aurora Flare, who bring complementary energy and a striking melodic depth to the project. Produced out of Waukesha, Wisconsin, the album has already surpassed 500,000 streams in just one week across all major streaming platforms, available via DistroKid on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. A musical crossing that requires no ticket, no passport, just a pair of headphones and a desire to escape. Presented by Slash Music.
The Man Behind the Controls: Peter Buffington, Pilot, Producer, Visionary
Peter Buffington, founder of Red Eye Music Group LLC and executive producer of all seven Speed Brake Armed albums, stands as a truly singular figure in the independent music landscape. An airline pilot on the Boeing 737 out of Chicago O’Hare, he has logged over 8,000 flight hours and 35 years of experience in the skies. But aviation is only one side of this extraordinary individual: a piano tuner and technician for three decades, he carries forward an exceptional family legacy, his father tuned for Duke Ellington and Chubby Checker on tour. It is from this unique crossroads between cockpit and studio that Speed Brake Armed‘s music is born: authentic, deeply lived-in, capable of resonating with seasoned pilots and casual daydreamers alike. The project’s YouTube channel now surpasses 15,000 subscribers, proof of a community growing with every takeoff. The band has also built strong ties within the aviation world, including a landmark partnership with legendary performer Greg Koontz Airshows, whose aerobatic displays now unfold to the rhythm of “American Decathlon Dreams”, taken from “Airshow America II”.

“737 Island Hopper”: Bound for EAA AirVenture 2026 and Beyond
Building on this immediate success, Speed Brake Armed shows no signs of throttling back. The band’s tracks have already echoed through the hangars of Sun ‘n Fun 2026 in Lakeland, Florida, energizing thousands of aviation enthusiasts. The next major milestone: EAA AirVenture 2026 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the world’s largest aviation gathering, where the band’s music will accompany the nightly airshows throughout the week-long event. And this is only the beginning: an eighth album is already in production at Red Eye Music Group LLC studios, expected in the coming weeks as a surprise release. Album after album, Speed Brake Armed continues to build a catalog as vast as the sky it celebrates. Keep your eyes on this artist, they are flying very high indeed.
