From the depths of Paris’ underground metal scene, THE DAWN RAZOR fires up the amps with a purely instrumental gem: the Guitar Playthrough video of « Refuse Tomorrow », an excerpt from their 2024 album « In Sublime Presence ». While the studio version of « Refuse Tomorrow » includes lyrics and screams, this performance strips away all vocals to focus solely on the guitar work. Seated calmly in front of a black wall decorated with two posters, Sylvain Spanu channels his craft through a striking display of technique and sensitivity. Presented by Slash Music, this minimalistic visual setting draws all attention to what truly matters: « the music ».
From Paris with riffs: A sonic journey worth following
Formed in 2016 by Sylvain Spanu, THE DAWN RAZOR is a French metal band built on contrasts, between brutality and melody, chaos and structure. Now joined by Thomas Artaud and Antoine Cremel, the trio has brought their vision to life on stages across Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and Tunisia, sharing the bill with bands like Mantra and Corrosive Elements. Their music draws inspiration from death and black metal, but also from Romantic art and the Sublime movement.
After a promising debut with « Renaissances », they returned in 2024 with « In Sublime Presence », a 10-track statement of intent. Tracks like « Point Nemo », « The Wooden Idol » and « Refuse Tomorrow » form a dense, elegant and powerful whole that confirms their place in the metal landscape. More guitar videos, exclusive content and live shows are coming, stay connected to THE DAWN RAZOR, because they’re just getting started.
