Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore are back for our greatest pleasure with their new album, “Ask the God.”
Clearly, the most anticipated release of the year, Empire of the Sun’s new album, titled “Ask the God,” is set to drop on July 26th. This project will mark the third album in the career of the iconic Australian duo.

It Wasn’t Planned Initially…
What joy it is to see Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore together again in this adventure that started with a few words exchanged in a bar a few years ago. Our love for Empire of the Sun began with their project “Walking on a Dream,” released in 2008. At that time, their music was almost too avant-garde; the world didn’t seem ready to appreciate this duo at its true value. But, driven by an imposing single and a dreamy first music video, this gem still spread worldwide, making EOTS a star group. Then came the second album, “Ice On The Dune.” A slightly more conceptual project with more resources, but not necessarily better tracks. Maybe it lacked a strong single? At the same time, it was hard to follow “Walking on a Dream,” which was played on every radio station, every TV ad, and even in your doctor’s waiting room. In short, none of the tracks from this project surpassed a million streams on Spotify, to give you an idea…
“Two Vines” managed to heal the pieces of our hearts broken by that disappointing second album. Empire of the Sun seemed to return to musical fundamentals, but criticism abounded, and many fans no longer felt connected to the direction the two artists were taking. At the same time, they’ve always said they don’t make music for others…
This fourth album, released in the height of summer and titled “Ask the God,” is already a huge success in our hearts. A complete return to their roots, like a sequel to “Walking on a Dream” that had captivated us back in the day. The worst part is that it wasn’t even planned! The two artists seemed to have returned to their own pursuits. Luke Steele was releasing solo clips, Nick Littlemore had gone back to making music with his band Pnau… Not to mention we learned that Nick was affected by Ramsay Hunt syndrome. A highly debilitating neurological disease that paralyzed his face for many months. We explain everything in this article. In the press, the two artists weren’t really talking about a comeback; everything seemed to be on hold…
Already 4 Music Videos Released…
Indeed, while the project isn’t yet on the shelves, Empire of the Sun has graciously released four music videos, and they are not to be missed. We have discovered the videos for “Changes,” “AEIOU,” “Music on the Radio,” and “Cherry Blossom” on their YouTube channel. Our favorite is undoubtedly “Music on the Radio,” which clearly has the vibes of a summer hit. Think Bee Gees on substances, and voilà! You get a danceable, quirky, and completely timeless track. In short, classic Empire of the Sun…
No Concert Dates in France for Now…
Empire of the Sun is a band that doesn’t do promotion. Yes, we assure you. The view and stream numbers are still very modest, but they don’t care; word of mouth will do the job for them. As for concert dates, it’s the same story—Empire of the Sun will go where the wind takes them, where success beckons. So, for now, apart from four dates at home in Australia, there’s not much for us to look forward to… It’s up to us to share this project as much as possible to force fate and bring Empire of the Sun to us. You know what you need to do…
